Lost Frontier Bio |
|
Lost Frontier is a developing Pittsburgh-based band writing and performing original rock music with a progressive aura. Members Steve Bloomquist, Jason Heintz and Michael Christiansen have a long collaborative history, performing together for the first time in the late 80's with the short-lived group Endangered Species. (Which featured bassist Scott Reibling, who later achieved a measure of success with the band Letters to Cleo.) The three joined forces again in 1993 to form the creative core of Lost Frontier, a foursome experimenting with original material running the gamut of musical genres. Over the course of two years Lost Frontier established a web presence and began recording a full-length CD at Pittsburgh's Klondike Inn studios. The untimely 1996 relocation of front-man Christiansen to another state spelled the demise of the project. Bloomquist and Heintz began anew in 2001, creating all-new songs with new bassist Tony Garofalo. This time Bloomquist was determined to write original music that reflected his love for progressive rock, while maintaining commercial viability. When Christiansen returned to Pittsburgh in 2002, he found this trio amassing a wealth of enticing new material, and still wanting for a vocalist. The reunion of Christiansen provided a voice and a body of new song ideas for the bold new statements that Lost Frontier is making. | ![]() |
