Lost Frontier Bio |
|
Lost Frontier is a developing Pittsburgh-based band writing and performing original rock music with a progressive aura. Members Steve Bloomquist and Michael Christiansen have a long collaborative history, performing together for the first time in the late 80's with the short-lived group Endangered Species. They joined forces again in 1993 to form the creative core of Lost Frontier, a foursome experimenting with original material running the gamut of musical genres. The original lineup consisted of Bloomquist, Christiansen, drummer Jason Heintz and Mark Porter on bass. Over the course of two years Lost Frontier established a web presence and began recording at Pittsburgh's Klondike Inn studios. The untimely 1996 relocation of front-man Christiansen to another state spelled the demise of the project. Lost Frontier began anew in 2001, with new bassist Tony Garofalo joining Bloomquist and Heintz to develop new songs for recording. When Christiansen returned to Pittsburgh in 2002, he found this trio amassing a wealth of enticing new material, and still wanting for a vocalist. He rejoined the ranks of Lost Frontier and the band continued writing and playing the occasional gig. Drummer Jason Heintz left the band in the summer of 2008 and the band took a break for several months before Doug Drake joined the band in 2009 to fill the void. | ![]() |
